Privacy policy
What we collect, why, and what you can ask us to do with it. In short: we collect very little, we never sell it, and the systems we build for clients stay private.

1. Who we are
Obair Bhaile builds custom office systems, websites and automations for trade businesses in Ireland. For the personal data described on this page, Obair Bhaile is the data controller. We follow the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Irish Data Protection Acts 1988 to 2018.

2. What we collect and why
When you visit this website
- We don’t use tracking or advertising cookies, and we don’t build profiles of visitors.
- We count page visits and measure page speed with Vercel Web Analytics and Speed Insights. These don’t use cookies and don’t identify you.
- Like any website, our host keeps short-lived technical logs (such as IP address, browser type and time of request) to keep the site secure and working.
Legal basis: our legitimate interest in running a secure, working website.
When you send an enquiry or book a call
We collect what you type into the form: your name, company, email, phone number (optional), type of business, what you need, your preferred call day and time, and your message. We use it only to reply to you, arrange the call and, if you ask, prepare a proposal. We don’t add you to a mailing list.
Legal basis: taking steps at your request before a possible contract, and our legitimate interest in replying to enquiries.
If you become a client
We keep the contact and billing details needed to do the work, invoice you and meet our tax and accounting obligations.
Legal basis: performing our contract with you, and legal obligation.
Accounts on our earlier app
Obair Bhaile previously ran a homeowner and trades app. If you created an account on it, we still hold that account data securely. The app is not being actively offered. You can ask us to delete your account and data at any time.
3. Systems we build for clients are private
When we build a system for a firm, the data in it belongs to that firm. The firm decides how it is used (it is the data controller) and we act only on its written instructions, under a data processing agreement (we are the processor). We never use a client’s data for anything else, never show it to anyone else, and never name a client publicly without their permission.
If your details are held in a system we built for a business you deal with, please contact that business first. We will help them answer your request.
The sample system on this website is made up. The names, places, phone numbers and prices are invented, and nothing you do in it is saved or sent anywhere.
4. Who processes data for us
We don’t sell personal data or share it for marketing. We use these service providers:
- Vercel: hosts this website and provides the cookie-free visit counts.
- Resend: delivers enquiry form messages to our inbox.
- Our email provider: holds our email, including your enquiry and our replies.
- Supabase and Google Firebase: database, login and file storage, for accounts on our earlier app only.
Some of these providers are based in the United States. Where data leaves the European Economic Area, it is protected by the EU–US Data Privacy Framework or the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses.
5. How long we keep it
- Enquiries that don’t lead to work: deleted 12 months after our last contact.
- Client records: for the length of the work, then 6 years to meet Irish tax and accounting rules.
- Website technical logs: a short period set by our host, then deleted automatically.
- Earlier app accounts: until you ask us to delete them, or we close the app.
6. Your rights
You can ask us to:
- give you a copy of the personal data we hold about you
- correct anything that is wrong
- delete your data (unless the law requires us to keep it)
- limit or stop how we use it, or object to it
- give your data to you in a format you can take elsewhere
Email info@obairbhaile.com with “Data request” in the subject. We reply within one month. You can also complain to the Data Protection Commission at dataprotection.ie.
7. Cookies and browser storage
This website sets no cookies. When you press “Got it” on the notice at the bottom of the screen, we save a small note in your browser so it doesn’t appear again. The sample system runs only in your browser and saves nothing. Accounts on our earlier app use essential login storage only.
8. Keeping data safe
The website runs over an encrypted connection (HTTPS). We keep access to personal data to the people who need it, and in the systems we build every person has their own login and sees only what their role needs.
9. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we’ll update the date at the top. For important changes affecting clients, we’ll tell you directly.
